To coincide with the exhibition, the CWNN South London will be performing a free lunchtime gig at the V&A on Saturday, the 27th July at 1.00 – 1.45pm. If you want to come along, don’t worry if you have not got a ticket for the David Bowie exhibition, the gig is open to anyone and is in the Lydia & Manfred Gorvy Lecture Theatre near the main entrance. The rest of the museum is also free, so be sure to stay and explore the wonders of the V&A.

Choir member Chris was one of the first to arrive at the rendezvous outside the museum in South Kensington. Talking to All together Now after the tour of ‘David Bowie is…’, Chris said: “I could have stayed in longer, it was good wandering about with those special radio headphones on listening to all the different sounds as I moved about. I stayed right to the end and left when they closed.”

We asked Sam, the South London Choir Director, if the choir would be ready for the gig with so many new members and three new Bowie songs to learn: “We will be as ready as we are when the gig starts,” said Sam. We are doing longer rehearsals to make sure, and the new songs are coming along well.” And what are the new Bowie songs? “I don’t want to spoil the surprise,” says Sam, “but I am sure that the choir will create a musical odyssey in that stunning performance space, including all the members who are absolute beginners and looking forward to their first ever gig on stage. I am sure that the Choir With No Name will lift the roof off in that wonderful auditorium,” he says.”They perform like heroes.”
